From the Pastor’s Desk
This month we are Rooting for Bright Hope. We are focusing on prayer, action, and partnership as practical ways we can help Bright Hope to grow and flourish. Our first initiative is to pray. To help us to focus on requests that will be most helpful to Bright Hope at this time, we have taken prayers that people are already praying and shaped them into ten “ prayers - ten key requests for the rule of Jesus to advance among us at Bright Hope. There was a printed list of the ten prayers in the bulletin on Sunday. If you missed this handout, the list will be enclosed in the bulletin this coming Sunday, November 14. A digital copy of the list is also available here: Kingdom Prayers For Bright Hope. As a daily reminder, we will send out one of these prayers by email every morning for the next 40 days (plus two). Please contact our church office at office@bhbic.com to be added to the distribution list. If this creates too much clutter in your inbox, just let us know and we will promptly cease and desist. Use these ten prayers, day by day, to pray for Bright Hope. Our plan is to mobilize many, if not all, of us to pray for Bright Hope for 40 days, from November
7 to December 18 (with two extra days in case we miss one or two). In this way, we can pray continually “to him who
is able to do far more abundantly than all that we ask or think, according to the power at work within us” (1 Thessalonians 5:1 Ephesians 3:20). And because these prayers are based on specific promises in the Bible, we can look forward to what God is going to do as we pray (Psalms 5:3)!
